She came to Louisiana searching for her father.
Falling in love with a man who might never forgive her wasn't part of the plan.

A broken-down car near Bijou Bayou introduces her to Justin Gravois, a handsome Major League pitcher struggling to recover from a disastrous debut.
Justin offers to help Noel find her father, unaware she's hiding a secret.
Writing under the name Micki Barrett, Noel published the scathing article
that made his professional humiliation even worse.
As friendship turns to romance, Noel's search uncovers possibilities for a future she never imagined. But the closer she grows to Justin, the more she fears the truth will destroy their budding relationship.
Against the backdrop of Cajun country's chilly gumbo weather, two hearts must confront painful truths, discover the power of forgiveness, and learn that trusting God may be their greatest victory yet.

Nestled in the heart of southeastern Louisiana, the fictional town of Bijou Bayou takes its name from the winding waterway that has shaped its landscape and its people for generations.
Like a precious jewel tucked into Louisiana’s lush countryside, Bijou Bayou meanders lazily through town, its dark, slow-moving waters reflecting towering live oaks draped in Spanish moss.
Ancient cypress trees rise from its muddy banks, their knobby knees poking through the shallows. Magnolias, wild irises, and native ferns flourish along the shoreline, while egrets and great blue herons wade among the reeds. Sunlight filters through the leafy canopy, scattering glimmers of gold across the water’s surface.
Around each gentle bend, the bayou reveals another glimpse of the natural beauty that makes this little corner of Louisiana a jewel worth discovering.
As it winds past weathered fishing docks, old boathouses, and homes with wide front porches, Bijou Bayou remains the lifeblood of the community. Small fishing boats drift along its quiet waters, while flat-bottomed skiffs rest beneath the shade of sprawling oaks.
The occasional splash of a fish or the distant hum of an outboard motor interrupts the rhythmic chorus of cicadas and tree frogs. In the evenings, the setting sun paints the water in shades of amber and rose, and porch lights begin to twinkle along its banks.
Though the bayou's waters may appear peaceful, they hold generations of stories—of families, friendships, hardships, and enduring faith. To those who call Bijou Bayou home, it is far more than a waterway.
It is the heart of their town, a thread connecting their past to their present, and a treasure whose true beauty lies in the lives gathered along its banks.
